After one scare a while back, Word Wipe was restored. Now it has gone the way of a points extraction rather than an entertaining game. The board has been made smaller which makes it harder for me to see. And the annoying pay to play popups are there just like on the trivia games. I love trivia but don't play because it takes forever due to the game's continuous attempts to get you to give up points rather than get them. I didn't complain about that as it was that way from the beginning.
However, what has been done to Word Wipe ruins the game for me. Way too hard to see and scores are meaningless if one gets them by giving up points. This is an EARN activity, not a redemption.
Please put it back the way it was!
Hi, here to help! Your games may not be working or loading because of technical issues such as conflicts created by too many active cookies, lack of available cache to complete a task, and/or an outdated browser. Please visit our help site: https://aarp.info/3epAstc for more information. -Carla S.
UPDATE: Today, 3/27, it is working fine. Somehow it is tinkered with. Beta or an experiment?
Thanks for the restoration and please leave it as it is, a great and challenging game. I am not a high scorer, but try to improve my strategies. It would be hard to play it with the gameboard made smaller due to the point extractions.
@AARPConsumerCare Could you have someone look into why Word Wipe will not load? Others have mentioned this as well. I have probably watched the ad ten times and all I get is loading....loading forever. Other games are doing this sometimes, solitaire yesterday but it stopped eventually. Is it because so many are doing Word Wipe for points or has the tinkering put a bug in the game?

@AARPConsumerCare This issue is for many people , not just one or two. It does not take a tech genius to know that the site is the problem, not the users.
This does not happen on ANY other site I use. I play games on the NYT site each day with no problems whatsoever. One can see why the problem is there: the actual game takes only about 35% of the screen. The rest is busy with banners and ads, even when a game is being played. It is NOT the problem of individual users. It is getting tiresome having the user blamed every time the site does not work properly.
