Flu vaccine

Is there a medical service to get the flu vaccine for senior at home?  If there is, is it covered by the insurance company?   Thanks.

You might want to check with your "Visiting Nurse" Association in your area.  It is my understanding that they can administer flu shots in homes.

Hi @bettyinTX, I have not seen services that provide flu vaccines at home. This year, flu shots will be available at pharmacies (like CVS and Walgreens), doctors' offices, and health departments. I believe some health clinics will be providing drive-up flu shot clinics as well.

Typically, the flu vaccine is free with insurance. If you have insurance, I would call them to see if there are at-home services available in your area and if there are, they can tell you the approximate costs.
